NWGA

The Northstar Working Group Association (NWGA) was started in January 2000.

Following a year of monthly meetings, fun matches, and public education events, the club obtained AKC recognition and was authorized to hold licensed B matches in conformation and obedience.  In late 2003, the NWGA was approved for AKC A match status, and completed the required program of A matches in 2004.  At the end of 2004, we were licensed by AKC to hold point shows and qualifying events in conformation and obedience.  

Our first Working Group conformation show was held in conjunction with the Lake Minnetonka Specialties in June 2005.  The year 2006 included conformation shows in January and June, and Minnesota's first Working Group obedience and rally trials in January.  We held our first all-breed agility trial in July 2008. 

The club continues its program of B matches and public education events, including the popular dog show tours offered at the Land O' Lakes Kennel Club shows.
